DORA

What is a DORA?

A Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) allows patrons to purchase alcoholic beverages from approved establishments within the DORA and enjoy them outdoors within the designated boundaries. The DORA is intended to encourage a welcoming atmosphere where visitors can safely socialize, walk throughout the downtown, and
support local restaurants and businesses.

DORA Guidelines

  • Patrons must be 21 years of age or older to participate in the DORA district.

  • The Downtown Bremen DORA is active Thursday through Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

  • All DORA beverages must be served in an approved DORA cup.

  • Any alcoholic beverage purchased within the DORA must remain inside the designated DORA boundaries.

  • Alcoholic beverages obtained outside the DORA may not be consumed within public areas of the DORA.

  • Glass containers containing alcohol are prohibited within the DORA boundaries.

  • Possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle may be a Class C infraction under IC §§ 9-30-15.

  • DORA beverages are not permitted inside merchant businesses unless the owner has explicitly approved it. Please look for posted signage indicating whether beverages are allowed.
